another stupid application of the label "terrorist"

Deborah Wolfe, a Canadian citizen who was just breast-feeding her son and changing his diaper while en route between Houston and Vancouver, says her "subversive" actions led to her being threatened with detainment, RCMP involvement and legal charges for terrorist action against a U.S. citizen in international airspace while on an American flight during a time of war. - by Lisa Fitterman

Basically, someone complained about her nursing and changing her baby in her seat to a flight attendant who, I guess, in turn blabbed to the pilot. The pilot announced that all mothers should change diapers in the plane's bathrooms, advice that the mother decided to ignore because she "found the change table too high, right above the toilet and with nary a restraint to stop an infant from falling." To me, that's an appropriate reason not to. Quite frankly, I'd like to find the guy who had complained and *THWAP* him upside the head a few times with a frozen trout.

Use a frozen salmon.
They're bigger.
Re: Use a frozen salmon.
True, but with anything bigger than a trout I'd probably be charged for assault with a deadly weapon. Too much trouble for something I wanted to do just for the halibut. ;o)
There's a problem with either your link.. or my browser's interpretation of it, it just opens the friends page in a new window.
Re: hmm..
*chuckles* Thanks. I've corrected that link. I swear, if my head wan't firmly attached to my body...
Re: hmm..

And.. I just can't believe something like that can happen. What is wrong with our world?

This almost ties in to the story I had posted recently about a mother that lost her children because of pictures of her breastfeeding and bathing with her kids.

Re: hmm..
*nods* I had seen a link to that story before at MetaFilter. It's not unbelievable to me at all unfortunately. Americans are being dragged slowly into a Police State due to a lot of fear of the unknown and the willness to have that stopped at any cost, plus, an administration willing to do just about anything it has to in order to achieve total power.
