There are a lot of things I do but never really think about. One of them is constant switching video modes on my computer and I'm wondering if all these switchings are good for my monitor. In particular I'm constantly switching back and forth from 800x600 to 1024x768 modes. After thinking about it for a bit I've realized anything involving reading text (web surfing, writing/debugging a program, reading email) I use 800x600. Almost every game I play however I have set to use 1024x768. I'm currently using a 17" monitor and for me it's a bit hard to read text at 1024 and at 800 my playfield view on games is very limited. So, I guess I'll keep switching back and forth but I'd like to know if anyone out there knows of any documentation of whether frequent switching is bad for a monitor in the long run.
