friday five (http://www.fridayfive.org)

1. What was/is your favorite subject in school? Why?
Up until the last of my senior year that'd be band: marching, concert and orchestra. It's the act of performing I loved so much though the travelling while seeing sights and people I enjoyed too. Other favorites were the two senior year elective classes I took: journalism and accounting. Journalism because the teacher was enthusiastic and patient, and, the class having some very outspoken and humorous students. Accounting because learning the subject just came so quick and easy for me.

2. Who was your favorite teacher? Why?
That's hard to say. My opinion of teachers was (and still is I suppose) very bipolar - either I really liked them or really didn't. I'm tempted to say Mr. Barber. He was my Spanish teacher for my junior and senior years as well as the leader of the barbershop chorus I was in. He had the knack of being fun while still being able to go about the business at hand and getting things accomplished.

3. What is your favorite memory of school?
That's be graduation night. Knowing that manditory schooling was finally over for good. From this point on I could take only the classes I was interesting in.

4. What was your favorite recess game?
Sure, make me go waaaaay back in the day. Tag was my favorite. We're talking back in the 2nd-3rd grades here. After that I didn't play much games as so much just sitting around with friends hanging out.

5. What did you hate most about school?
The whole student social structure of school, particularly high school. Look back and tell me it wasn't all foolishness.
